I think huge punchers could take him out- Liston, Lewis, Foreman, etc. But- I think a 37 year old Walcott being competitive and enduring against a prime Marciano for 13 rounds suggests enough to me he could stand up against most champions for a time, and he certainly won't lack the technical ability to make the fight competitive. Additionally the power to floor Marciano shouldn't be ignored. He fought a faded but still strong Louis, no lousy feat, and this is a credit to Louis as well. The same with Charles, he just fought too many good top guys that the division of his time had to offer and while his record may not reflect it, he was still competitive and competent.

I think big punchers might actually struggle the most against Walcott. He was extremely difficult to hit, and if Joe Louis and Rocky Marciano struggled that much with hitting him, I doubt Foreman or Liston would have much success either. It might just be a repeat of the Ali fights.

Ah thats a good point. If there is anything that can be said about Walcott, he was a master with feints, an absolute dog. To successfully and consistently sell feints against the likes of Joe fu****** Louis and Ezzard Charles is an insane feat to me. Walcott's tactics could baffle the most intelligent opponents.
