Walcott found a way to lose most big fights, so I take Foreman

First thought was Walcott, I'll stick with it

Walcott wins every round until he is hit.

 

Foreman mid round knock out, George would find Walcott difficult to figure out but no way walcott can avoid taking atleast one of those bombs all night, it only took one from Marciano to put Walcott down and foreman was 3 times the puncher Marciano was. He had everything it would take to beat foreman except for a good chin.

 

This. Walcott is a horrible style matchup for big George. He would probably stop big George.

 

Walcott is slicker than Morrison, that's all ill say. If Foreman doesnt rally then he losses a very, very lopsided points decision.

 

We are talking the Foreman from the Holy fight not the stone old version who fought Tommy Chin.....

Glass chinned skinny Walcott, only propped up by Forum Marciano worshippers would get stopped with the first real punch George lands......tricky crafty my azz, Walcott was considered a borderline journeyman by his contemporaries who got stopped by far lesser fighters than Foreman....who stunned the iron chinned Holyfield, same punches would catapult Walcotts China into the cheap seats.

Again, he can run but cannot hide, he always engaged and when Walcott finally lets his hands go its light out for him, guaranteed.

 

If Walcott( who was great on his best nights) uses his beautiful footwork and pot shots Foreman and completely respects Foreman power he can take Big George into deep water and gas and stop him from 9-15 - Walcott had great footwork angles and power in both hands and he had pinpoint power and good speed. I would give a crafty Walcott a good chance to upset Foreman in Ali's place or Youngs place when they fought George but Foreman always dangerous.

 

Jersey would more than likely get a decision, if he almost beat a lot younger Marciano I reckon he'd out point a 40 odd Foreman. But.. You can never rule out big George slamming a ko punch in, as Moorer found out, so Joe can't be complacent.. Ever.
My pick is Walcott by slim decision win.

 

Jersey Joe Walcott was such a cool, tricky fighter LOVE him. George indeed might have been hurt a couple of times and would be almost certainly outslicked in the early rounds...but Joe would have eventually been caught flush. And he wouldn't have made the count.

This seems to be the common misconception. He took huge bombs from Marciano and didn't go down, or even seem hurt really. The famous shot where his face is all contorted, that wasn't the KO shot, and he didn't go down from it. In the previous two rounds he tried to unload on Marciano and put him away. But when he couldn't, it also fatigued him, then the KO blow came.
