Battle of the Joe's. Which Joe will come out victorious. 1947 Walcott vs 1971 Joe Frazier. Walcott is 194 pounds to Frazier’s 205 pounds.

Picking Frazier here. Think JJW shows up though as he did against the best often. He prob is even ahead when he gets stopped. But he prob is getting stopped

What if Walcott's left hook finds it's mark?

Joe may get stunned and hurt, but I doubt that he even gets dropped.

Walcott is tough and hits hard, but not hard enough to stop Smoking Joe.

Eventually, Frazier's relentless attacks will break Walcott's defense.

    Frazier by late stoppage.

I think like Marciano, Frazier would punch through the tricks after going through hell.

JF wears his man down, gets him out faster than Marciano.

Walcott wasn’t vulnerable to left hooks, not offensive ones anyway, yes he got dropped by Ezzard Charles with one, but that was a counter, Charles was moving away and Walcott overcommitted and left himself wide open, when someone committed to the left hook, he was able to step back and keep that right hand tight, it was the right hand he was susceptible to, because he like to dip to his right or jab whilst leaning to the right and counter with a right hand when the opponents looked like they were going to commit, Marciano read this and threw jab because he knew Walcott was going to slip to his right and attempt a right hand counter, so Marciano threw that jab and then timed Walcott’s counter right by leaning just enough to his left as he threw the right as to beat Walcott to the punch, also Marciano knowing what Walcott was going to do and plan accordingly also helped to beat him to the punch, the point is that Walcott could be times with the right, but wasn’t open to left hooks, people often think that Frazier, because he had similar strengths to Marciano in terms of his stamina and good power, that it’d be the same, but they’re not looking at the technical components that led to Marciano knocking him out, Frazier is not knocking Walcott out with a right hand, and Walcott had a good defence against left hooks, also, if you land 1 on Walcott, it’s gonna be very hard to get combinations off because of how slippery he was, he’d be slippery, and when Frazier got close, Walcott could tie him up and for my money, he’s stronger than Frazier, yes he was lighter, but he wasn’t much lighter and Walcott was shredded and Frazier was relatively soft.
Walcott could time Frazier with the check left hook as Frazier commits to the lead left hook, and Walcott could follow up with the uppercut as Frazier rolls, Walcott had very good timing and uppercuts which would make it dangerous for Frazier, Frazier smoking may get himself smoked here, he wasn’t the most difficult to hit and Walcott was also very sneaky and great at walking you onto punches, which would certainly be possible to do against Frazier.
