Byrd was taller And wider than walcott. Byrd was very fast And looked very natural at 210 pounds. No natural lhw could carry 210-215 pounds moving as fast as byrd and looking natural his body and not inflated.deal with the facts.chris byrd was bigger than jersey Joe walcott

    This is nonsense.

If Walcott could have gone down to 175, don’t you think that he would have tried to get the tile?

It would have got him out of the obvious problem of fighting Joe Louis, or waiting for him to get old!

The steroid era has allowed light heavyweights like Byrd to bulk up, but it can only do so much for them!

    Self destruction more like.

Does Walcott have a ranking at this point?

If so, then why does Tua alter his consistent record of failure, in this particular case?

Because Walcott is a lot lighter, chinny, inconsistent and has been stopped by lesser opposition.

Tua has beaten Rahman, Maskaev, Ruiz and Moorer. He had a fight against Ike which could have gone either way. He lost clearly only to Lewis and Byrd. Walcott lost clearly to a lot of people.

Actually it would be a missmatch. Tua kills him. Marciano at 185 pounds was toó strong for walcott. A 226 tank tua would smash him

To beat Walcott you just need power, Tua had plenty.

Rahman was dubious, the rest were clear victories.

Canto achieved much more than Tua but I would expect Tua to destroy him.

If Walcott could navigate Louis(I), Bivens, Murray, Sheppard and Ray without getting KO'd... I'm unclear why you think Tua is sure to get the job done. As Janitor correctly pointed out... When Walcott started getting proper training and became a full time fighter... He was very consistent and world class level for a good while. Most of his inconsistency was early in his career not later.

The only proven puncher on that list is arguably Louis and he flattened Walcott second time round.

I don't think Walcott has ever seen the combination of speed and power Tua brings to the table.

Nam one who had the handspeed to match. Tua was like a poor man's Tyson he had murderous power and exceptionally quick hands.

Moorer was shot but Ruiz and Maskaev both went on to achieve.

Styles make fights and I have no idea how Walcott is gonna keep Tua off him for 12 rounds. We know Tua can take him out with one shot. We know Walcott wasn't disciplined with is gameplan. We know Walcott was prime to defeat. I see this ending one way.

I think the underlined is too simplistic .Tommy Gomez, and Curtess Sheppard both had plenty of power, Walcott beat them .You need more than just power to beat a prime Jersey Joe.
