Jersey joe was quite a late bloomer in terms of age. He produced his best form between the ages of 33-38. Part of the reason could have been that when he was younger,he was financially broke and took fights at a week or so's notice. Just supposing that he'd attracted the same interest that a young Joe Louis did,and he'd had all those early fights in good physical condition. How good could he have become ?
In this alternate reality, walcott and Louis could've duked up several years earlier than they actually did. Food for thought.
