You'd be forgiven if you had assumed he was retired, given the seventeen months inactive with nothing lined up. The reluctant man isn't ready to give up the ghost just yet, though. He is returning in December with a tuneup for a rematch with Andre Berto in early 2016. :bbb After that, if he goes 2-0 over Berto, he should target a rematch with Devon Alexander, whose confidence has to be low after losing to Aron Martinez. (a very poor man's JSK) He will be a sight for sore eyes, and with his comeback and Margarito's coinciding there is a slim chance we could see a long overdue battle of tall Mexican workhorses...
I never assume anyone retired anymore if he isn't inactive for at least 2½ years or has a new job wich is high paying and doesn't mix with baxxin'. I like Soto Karass, and I will root for him in the Berto rematch. hoping for many Berto shoulderrols
Good. After that Berto beating I thought Floyd was going to fight him next too. One of the most overlooked but needed journeyman in boxing. Karass, Diaz, Lopez, Molina...The four horsemen of 140-154 during 2010-2015. Need a top level B-class fighter to make your guy look legit... call one of these men.
In May of 05 I saw Soto-Karass fight Manuel Gomez and get a draw in a fight he took on short notice a clearly won. Gomez was #1 contender and was later stopped in 67 seconds by Margarito.
Wow, so you've been on the "JSK is a hard-nosed, underappreciated SOB" bandwagon about as long as I have. :good
Soto Karass did everything required for a Mayweather payday (i.e. beat Berto). Mayweather ducked him to fight his son Berto :-(
