I'm not quite as broken up about it as you are, annoyed yes, but at least Macias isn't a huge puncher, and while this isn't a great style matchup for JSK.... at all, I think he and his corner are responsible enough to do the right thing on Thursday the moment it starts looking dire, which will probably be early, and pull him out by the 4th or 5th, so JSK will gt a paycheck for some heavy sparring, Macias will get a name, even though it carries far less weight now. The real creeps here, like you've already pointed out, are Golden Boy for even proposing and making this fight to begin with.

For the record, he isn't undefeated in the eyes of some of us, myself and several others scored his match against Herrera for him, it was competitive, but Jesus was more consistent and active throughout. It was one f the rare occasions where frequent robbery victim Herrera was gifted one himself.

Eh, deserving the nod last summer against 37 year old nearly-man Herrera does nothing to diminish the fact that JSK in 2018 isn't what he was in 2013, let alone in 2008. He of all people with all the blood and guts wars ought to be exempted from this brutal tradition our sport has of thanking its veterans by churning them into a meaty sludge for weaning (often unworthy) prospects. I understand that it happens pretty frequently, but with somebody like JSK you'd expect Golden Boy to be a little more appreciative of all his past toil and sparing him participation in this gruesome ceremony of faux torch-passing.
