Magdaleno still moving and jabbing. Neither landing anything solidly yet. Magdaleno is backed into the ropes by a blocked right on the body and then a left hook bouncing erratically off the shoulder - but then gets hit with a straight right low blow, followed by a flush right between his eyes while incapacitated that causes him to fall onto the canvas, writhing in and coughing in pain. Robert Byrd informs the commissioner at ringside that his plan is to deduct two points from Vicente for the flagrant double foul (very low hit, and then a hit on a defenseless Magdaleno after being ordered to stop and back up), and says that if Magdaleno is unable to continue after the allotted five minutes the fight will be over. Time in, after Magdaleno taking about half the recovery time, maybe three minutes. Vicente is aggressive, placing his lead toe of his left foot nearly atop Magdaleno's right, but he is unable to compete with Magdaleno's reach, his jab falling short as Magdaleno counters with light grazing left uppercuts on the abdomen. Vicente goes low again; Byrd docks him one more point. They jab out the round, with Magdaleno jumping off the ropes to plug Vicente with left uppercuts downstairs occasionally.
