    Round 3

Bonnani is jabbing diligently into the guard as Dias watches and folds himself inward, timing Bonnani's attacks to now curl around him in a clinch and maybe clap a right hand across the top of his head in the process. Bonnani is boxing more now, circling and picking spots to jab through the guard. Dias is getting bolder, stepping in and hooking with Bonnani on occasion. BAD IDEA!!! DIAS IS ROCKED!! He holds onto Bonnani while stumbling back toward the ropes, balance shot to hell. He manages to stay up until the bell.

    30-27 Bonnani

:good Even this undercard bout is turning out to be a lively diversion, even if it's one-sided.

Of course, after Fiorletta vs. Nagy earlier today I'm freshly reminded that anything can happen in boxing.

Never count out an underdog, even down on the cards and with few career knockouts. A grown man can turn out another grown man's lights at any time. :deal

    Round 4

It's getting very scrappy on the inside, a lot of grabbing behind the neck and yanking, wrestling and landing wide hooks to the temple as the force of their inside jockeying leaves them each teetering to either side like tweaked springs. Dias is really thudding away to the body where he can, staying up close against Bonnani and landing more with his elbows than his fists but successfully taking some of his wind. BIG hook by Bonnanibefore the bell to nip a successful body combo by Dias in the bud.

Damn, close round. Still Bonnani's. 40-36

    Round 5

Bonnani is circling left, pushing out his jab as Dias tries to loop a hook over it. Bonnani rushes forward and puts Dias on the ropes with a straight volley. Dias is able to cover up and roll with it, using the ropes for an escape route. Bonnani lunges in with a right hand and gets his arms pulled to drag him headlong into a clinch, almost a headlock. Dias is waiting on the outside, ducking to either side and moving his head rapidly, holding his right glove up by his chin and spiraling it while waving his left out in a defensive posture. Bonnani lunges repeatedly and gets tied up again, or parried and swerved away. Dias is committed to not getting hit, and making it ugly. Right hand by Dias up close after ducking past a Bonnani combo. BIG LEFT HOOK BY DIAS, putting Bonnani on the ropes and then catching him in a tight squeeze before he can retaliate. Dias is now walking Bonnani down!! Big right hand over the top by Dias! Bonnani holds!!

    10-9 Dias

    49-46 Bonnani

    Told you!

    ACHIB. :deal

I could see a judge having given Dias the 4th, which puts him in a position to secure a draw should he carry his momentum down the home stretch here... (or, if he scores a knockdown... :scaredas:)

    Round 6

Big swooping overhands traded as they collapse together in a clinch. BIG HOOK by Dias. Bonnani leans into him, tired. The ref gets separation. Body shots by Dias, leaning back at mid-range and letting his fists fly out in underhanded chops, scoring until Bonnani flops into him to clinch again. Lots of holding. Ref has his work cut out. Bonnani tries to work the body while shoving against Dias, but can't get his bearings in the pocket, his coordination worsening. Dias is chest-bumping him into position against the ropes and tossing big wild hooks at his head, then pressing against him and digging body shots. VERY STRONG FINISH BY DIAS!! Huge uppercuts strung together, lefts and rights, keeping Bonnani on the ropes!

    10-9 Dias

    58-56 Bonnani

Sweet little tussle. As dramatic as 6-rounders get.

    Very fair result.

Man-sized effort on both ends. They didn't squander their exposure.

I wouldn't mind seeing them do it again over eight, on a Boxeo di Primera card on TyC.

Hanging out with Fernanda Landa at ringside are Mariano Natalio Carrera (former middleweight fringe contender...should actually be "former middleweight world champ", as he knocked out Javier Castillejo in a WBA title bout but tested positive for a technically banned substance...used for weight loss :!: - so that's on the books as a No Contest...)

    ...and this ball of sunshine.

If anyone saw their first encounter (or spent the bulk of the last hour watching the vids I posted for Bogo) you know it was an entertaining game of violent chess.

El Tigre looks prepared to make life as hard on Cuellar this time around. :bbb

    Round 1

Cuellar immediately plugs in a right hook to the side of the head, and a powerful straight left. Tapia blocks and shuffles to his left, but doesn't step backwards. Cuellar keeps slicing at him with uppercuts to the body until Tapia has no choice but to give ground. TAPIA DOWN, off a quick right hook!!! He is up and running. Cuellar patiently stalks, then explodes with a right hook and some VICIOUS lefts!! TAPIA TRIES TO FIGHT HIS WAY OUT OF A CORNER BUT IS GETTING CHISELED!! Cuellar is absolutely mauling him with fast and volatile punches. Nice combo by Tapia, getting a few licks in to the body and finishing with a left hook over Cuellar's jab. THEY SLUG IT OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RING!! Both connect! Awesome!!

    10-8 Cuellar
