Headlining on the Golden Boy Promotions card on Estrella TV this Friday night, April 15th. The co-feature pits Vyacheslav "Lion Heart" Shabranskyy in with chancy journeyman Derrick "Superman" Findley.

Should be high-octane, give-no-quarter stuff. :toney

    Neither man likes backing down.

    亀海喜寛 is a 15/8 underdog.

Thanks IB... Your ****ysis seems fairly sound, I'm going with Karass UD.. Quick thing though... Obviously while Kamegai doesn't hit nearly as hard as his record would suggest(KO ratio aided by his feasting on domestic level fighters and journeyman) Is his power an x-factor here, is it even something to look out for? Seems like it's been almost completely absent at the fringe world stage even.

I wanted to go this one but I already bought GGG and Berto/Ortiz tickets. I have as feeling that this may be a better fight than the other 2.

Soto Karras is shot, but I don't think Kamegai has the power to take him out

Even if he packed a fair wallop by world class standards, that has never been a going concern for JSK. His whiskers are proven titanium. Maidana and Thurman both wailed on him for several rounds before getting him out late, and Rosado - a naturally much bigger man - pounded his eyes shut and never managed to put him on the deck before the mercy jump-in from Smoger.

...and just recently Jesús fought Adrián Granados in BKB with those itty-bitty gloves and in a 17' diameter pit (half the size of a normal boxing ring) and they went to war - and he never went down and only lost via SD. He did, however, again suffer a great deal of facial damage. That could be a worry if they spend long in the deep trenches and Kamegai lets his fists go with the presence of mind to specifically target all that soft flesh around the eyes.

I'm still torn on this match, if it goes the distance Soto Karass wins especially since its in LA and they're be a lot of Mexicans in attendance, but Kamegai is pretty relentless, and JSK isn't nearly as good at spoiling and disrupting rhythm as Gomez is and even that match things were starting to unravel for Gomez by the end, I think its a perfect storm for JSK to lose and by KO, he's been off for almost 2 years and I don't see him not getting drawn into a war, and I don't see him being able to outwork Yoshi in close, JSK isn't on Guerrero's level. I have no idea.:confBut I'm leaning towards Kamegai KO.

I vote Kamegai. The guy went to war with Guerrero and regardless of what Guerrero said about making the fight kore exciting, he was pretty beat up.
