He wasn't very good, lacked durability ,the ability to tough it out, the determination and the mindset to be a champion the very qualities that Marciano did actually possess were lacking in Fraudley.

If you remember Tyrell Biggs ? Well this guy wasn't as talented and didnt fight anywhere near the standard of opponent consistently that Biggs did, but there are similarities. Occasionally he put it together, but there was a tangible fragility about the guy and more than a feeling that his heart wasn't in the pro game.Excellent size and style with a scoring jab for the amateurs though ( like Biggs). Audley always looked a little ungainly in the ring to me, as he threw a punch he often moved his own head back as if anticipating what might be coming back his way. Didn't have the right mindset to be a pro.

It's not that McVey doesn't like Marciano.

It's that he LOVES Dempsey ;)

One part of me thinks Audley with his superior skill set would outbox Williard.
However I can't help but think somewhere over the stretch Williard would connect with one of those big right hands and take Audley out.
One things for certain whatever the distance 12 or 15 Audley isn't stopping Williard.

Harrison was promised to us as the next Lewis.

He dominated the Olympic and looked a huge level above.

Promised to make his own destiny and unify all the titles.

He cherry picked early opposition which we expect, but then continued cherry picking in huge mismatches, he looked really good against Bonin and people began to think he could step up to world level.

He had seemingly good timing, a tricky southpaw stance and seemed to possess a missile of a left hand.

But then Danny Williams made him look really ordinary, Guinn even more so and the bubble was burst.

He conned everyone though, said it was promotional distractions and he was returning to the drawing board to come back stronger.

December 06 he destroyed Williams in a rematch and it seemed he was about to jump to world class, but then came Sprott bursting the bubble yet again. The lacklustre punch shy performance against Rogan summed up his career.

In prize fighter he looked hungry again for the chance at redeeming himself and the ko shot against Sprott in the rematch hinted that he'd finally grown heart, but of course it was another con job which led to the biggest con of all, the sparring match with Haye.

Worst part about, the general British public fell for it every single fukin time.

After Lennox Lewis retired, one reporter actually asked Harrison if Lewis had retired because of him!

Harrison gave a suitably humble reply.

The Hersisia fight made me think that he might have potential.

The Bonin fight was actually the first fight that told me that something was wrong.

This was a guy who he should not have been struggling against.

After he demolished Williams, I thought that he might be able to pick up a belt.

He gained redemption of sorts by winning the European title under difficult circumstances.

The Bonin fight was his step up fight though so when got through it I thought he could go on to be something special here, I mean back then Wlad was still seen as a joke, Rahmam was a has been and the Eastern Euro guys were totally unknown.

So Willard's durability and power beats Harrison superior boxing skills?

    Yes basically.

He lost on Commonwealth grade fighters, simply because they had those attributes.

Whatever Willard's limitations, he clearly had power durability and will, in abundance.

At some point either Willard would connect with Harrison’s chin and put him to sleep, or he would force him into a shell to lose a wide decision.

Perfectly, I give credit where it is due, my eyes are always open and though I wear glasses for long distance they are not rose- coloured!

That I do! And Marciano is inferior to him in most attributes imo.
Rocky was a great fighter who beat who was around ,who could do more?

Only lenses I see him through are from old black and white cameras from the 1950s!
