Yeah, I guess so, but truthfully, Fury is about as relevant as Willard today.

Interesting, both giants who defeated an aging ATG.

I think Fury is the better boxer, but Willard was tough and enough of a punch I couldn't count him out.

Willard was big, strong and durable. He was also as graceful as a plank with the footwork of a tree. A guy like Fury will box rings around him. He's bigger than Willard, with actual skills and movement. The fact that Fury may have a suspect chin will have minimal bearing on this fight because I doubt Jess manages to land a hurtful punch on him. I can't think of a worse stylistic matchup other than maybe Dempsey.

A Fury decision win seems to be the most likely outcome to me.

In a longer fight Willard might wear Fury down.

I was a damned advocate of his when the creep won the title from Klitschko. I thought that he would be "good for boxing" and all that rot. I overlooked his first excesses...was very tolerant of him and believed that he'd repeat his win over a shot Wlad....but, his ongoing behavior, his loony sort of debauchery, getting fat, the nose candy, all that, has added up to him being a complete embarrassment..a disgrace of a fighter, especially as a champion. I'm beyond sick of him too.

I like Fury because the casuals don't understand how good he is when motivated and in shape, plus that most 'experts' didn't think he would ever get to the level he did. Truth is he's one of the only guys out there with the balls to call out boxing for what it is. A corrupt money orientated business, where fighters put their lives on the line and get used for the benefits of promoters pockets. Also I picked him a couple of years before to be the only threat to Wlad's title and got told otherwise in person by people that know very little about the sport and just saw him as some big overweight loaf with no skill. So I guess I just have a personal bias towards his success because he made me look good, yay me

Over 12 Fury by decision, maybe by knock out if Willard threw caution to the wind, due to being miles behind on the scorecard later in the fight.

I have to agree with this.

I thought that Klitschko would flatten the big lunk, but instead he flummoxed Wlad and, even taking into account Klitscko's home problems and iffy mental state, delivered a masterclass. Yeah, it was boring, but the constant feinting and awkwardness of Fury made it very difficult for Wlad to get set. I thought, "A star is born." Unfortunately it was only a shooting star, and the only things that fear Fury nowadays are the readers of the British news and the native hedgehog population. Very sad, actually. With a focused mental state Fury could have been great.

In any case, if he's good enough to bewilder Wlad, he's more than good enough to spin Willard around 3 times and peg a tail to his backside.

I guess I just have a soft spot for Fury, the way he was victimised by the British media IMMEDIATLEY after winning the title, before he was boshing gear up his schnozza was disgraceful. I guess it's true what they say, everybody loves a hero, but the thing people love most is to see them fall. I still give Fury a legit chance of beating Joshua and Wilder, but maybe I'm blinded by my personal bias towards him.

Not sure how educated you Yanks are in gypsie's but it makes the feat of becoming heavyweight champ 10x more impressive if you ask me.

I don’t think there is that much between Willard and Fury. They were both good enough to be world champion and are a similar size.

I watched Furys whole career. All of it. He’s good enough to be a world champion, he put the Klitschko format into perspective and out Klitschkoed a Klitschko. So I credit him for that, And I even forecasted it happening.

I don’t think that makes anyone great. It makes them a Superheavyweight employing championship Superheavyweight tactics.
