    Yep.
I've been arguing this point on and off for years on the internet.

Loads of internet nerds assuming all the boxers are following some sort of cutting edge Soviet-era-inspired "sports science" approach - (most of which is miles away from being boxing-specific) and it makes them incomparably superior to the old timers, couldn't be further from the truth.

I think Fury looks a lot more skillful than Willard.
Fury uses angles and moves intelligently. Willard's static.

There's nothing wrong with being an oaf anyway. Some oafs can fight.

Fury's a bit ungaingly and awkward in his movement, lacks "fluidity". That doesn't bother me, but some people read that as "lack of skill" or "lack of technique".
Anyway, I thought Lennox Lewis and Vitali Klitschko were "as bad", or worse.

There's no argument, Willard looked awful, he was completely rubbish by modern standards. That's just the truth, what sort of combo do you call that?

You're forgetting a key here. Yes, he may be fat...but look at all of the good heavyweights who have been fat particularly around the mid section.

Maybe PED's and modern techniques allows Tyson Fury to be that good without having to worry too much about being in the best shape. Fury for the Wlad fight was actually in good shape.

Fury is a specimen, an elite talent on a huge physical frame. A highly ranked amateur, too.

    Willard rips furys head off.

furys won nothing apart from vs a near 40something champ who wasn't strong h2h even when prime.... and suddenly he's 10 times better than Jess who took an ATG h2h nightmare's title? albeit who was not far off the same age.

but I can see why the kliturd club want to dump serially on all the past giants who got destroyed by smaller men, since all they do is ruin their "modern super heavyweight gassing fatboy is the greatest" theory.

Fury is an inspiration to non-athletic, morbidly obese balding men across the world.

Much as Marciano continues to be an inspiration to non-athletic, short, stubby Goombahs.

Fury is certainly more speedy and mobile than Willard.Willard had a great chin and a terrific right hand,I don't think Fury has either.

Fury fought a very smart fight against Klitschko. His use of feinting, something that I'd place as more common in Willard's era, was excellent. It helped him control range for the majority of the fight and as someone has already mentioned, making Wlad lead and pretty much comfortably pot shotted his way to victory.

It is not lost on me that I badly underestimated Fury.

    All correct.

Again, Fury is most likely the reincarnation of Leon Spinks, an inspired fighter who caught an ageing great on the right night.

I suspect that he will end up more among the Rahman’s of history.
