That's just it. In reality, P4P lists are meaningless actually.

He certainly looks goddamn good. His footwork, angle changes, punch variety, toughness (check out his war with Sunny), gas tank, hand speed, etc. It all passes the eye test by a mile. It's still early days for him though, so jury is still out. Is he a future HOF'er? I mean, looks like it, but he's still got a lot to prove. Also, doesn't he lead the entire sport of boxing in his accuracy stats? He certainly knows how to find an opening.

If I have a criticism -- he gets hit more than he should. Seems like he's got a good chin, but there are some big punchers out there he'll have to contend with. And he needs to knock it off with clowning around in the ring. He got caught flush in the face for making fun of Sunny Edwards mid-fight instead of having his hands up. I seem to remember a certain HW champ who got knocked out for the exact same dumb move. Hands up, kid.

Wasn't Cuadras top 5, Wangek top 3, Estrada #1, Edwards top 3? They were older, but he was the guy to pop their cherry. You're gonna get credit on p4p lists for that. I don't think he's at the level of Junto or Inoue though. A step behind, I think most people agree with that.

How was Sunny Edwards mentally fragile? Dude was still in his prime, reigning champion and undefeated and hadn't taken much damage through his career. Bam was just better.

Bam looks like a weight bully but he's skilled. If anything Nakatani is the one who's overrated.

    I'm gonna say yes.

The names on his resume in recent years are good, but they're pretty easily "asterisked", so to speak. Most of the best ones were older guys at the end of their careers, and the one that wasn't was notoriously pillow fisted. Granted, I picked Edwards to beat him in that fight so I'm not saying that to take away from the win, it's just something worth noting. Also in both of his fights between Rungvisai and Edwards, against younger guys who weren't notorious for being soft touches, he didn't look to be anything special. Not to say he didn't easily win those fights, he clearly won them, but if those were the only ones you saw you wouldn't walk away thinking he was top tier.

I say all that as someone who does actually enjoy watching him fight, so I'm not saying this to try and talk down his resume. I'm just saying, as someone who likes him, all that is enough to raise some questions.
