I've recently been watching many of Johnny Tapia's fights and was wondering how many people on this forum would perceive a fight between him and the new darling of 115lbs, Jesse 'Bam' Rodriguez, would go!

Hard to say,,Bam needs a signature win over someone who isn't past it

That would have been an amazing mythical match up. Tapia was very skilled with great athleticism, speed, and combinations but he was also flashy and loved to put on a show. When he was sharp and on form he was a hard fighter to beat.

I'd favor Tapia but Bam has a lot of time to continue improving.

It was certainly his speed and combinations that made me think this would be a wonderful match-up to ponder!

Certainly, the Tapia who fought Henry Martinez would be a nightmare for anyone!

Short answer is Tapia. Respectfully he'd have Rodriguez in hell IMO

I think this question is far too early for Bam TBH

A focused Tapia wins this one fairly comfortably.

Speaking of Tapia, it was so sad to see him getting beat up a little bit by Marco Antonio Barrera, you could tell Barrera didn't want to do it.

I couldn't stand Tapia. But, I think he edges this one out.

He shouldn't of even been in that fight as he clearly won a horrible decision vs Medina in his previous fight for a title.
