the fight would of happened where ever it made the most business sense. if that was the uk, then bute should of taken the fight. if it was canada, then froch would of fought bute there. like he did when he went over to the states to fight taylor in the first defence of his title.

Apparently, he didn't know what would be his schedule for the week and he didn't even know he had another weight in the morning of the fight, according to the IBF rules!

Jesse Brinkley I like a lot , but I give him 6 rounds maximum , more like 3 or 4 , Bute is a bigger SM , Jesse is really only a blown up middle on a bit of a run . Good payday .

 

Froch add already turn down a fight against Bute to be Berrio mandatory a couples of years ago!

 

What Jean Bédard (Bute's promoter) told (and it was confirmed by Showtime latter on) was that they were negociating with Froch's team and the fight was supposed to be in Britain but all of the sudden Henessy stopped talking to them when he signed for the Super Six. At the beginning, SHO wanted to make a Super Eight by including Bute and Andrade, but they realised it would take too much time. They wanted 3 Americans, Sauerland had a lot of power and they had a good relationship with Henessy, so there you go... Bute was never invited:
