Jesse Ferguson - The Ultimate Journeyman?

    He certainly didn't that's probably the most Holmes was hurt in his 2nd career, it was also a very close fight which is worthy of a scorecard from you.

    As for this thread Ferguson didn't start out as a journeyman, he was actually pretty highly rated prospect he was in the "ESPN young Heavyweight tournament" and was 13-0 until he lost an absolute barnburner to Carl Williams, which is one of the best Heavyweight fights of the 80s. Then he had the misfortune of facing a young Mike Tyson who had one of his best nights. And after the Tyson loss he seemed to go into journeyman status.

    What alot of people seem to forget about Ferguson's fights with Mercer, is that the 2nd fight against an in shape motivated Mercer was also a very close competitive fight. Which showed Ferguson didn't just beat an unmotivated Mercer he could actually hang with Mercer.
