Jesse James Leija fights with Azumah Nelson were __________?

The 2nd and 3rd fights are the most significant and the most worth seeing. The 1st fight was a bit lackluster IMO, while the last fight was rather spirited, but not as meaningful as both guys were well past their primes by then.

In the 1st fight, Leija boxed over the first half of the fight, while Nelson laid back and appeared to be picking his spots and conserving his energy (like he had in his previous fight with Ruelas). Nelson stepped up the pace over the second half of the fight, and Leija basically stopped fighting and tried to sit on his early lead. (I believe this was Leija's first fight at 130 since moving up from 126, and I think the extra weight bothered him as well). In the end, I felt it was a very close fight that probably could've gone either way. The decision was initially given to Nelson, but after Leija's fans threatened to tear the place down, an "error" was suddenly "discovered" in one of the scorecards, and the result was changed to a draw.

The 2nd fight is the best of the bunch IMO, and also Leija's greatest career performance. Both fighters fought much better than in the first fight (Nelson started out much faster, and Leija looked much stronger and more comfortable at the weight), and Leija surprisingly was able to control the fight from start to finish. Nelson kept coming the whole fight, but Leija just kept wailing away and outpunched him. He also dropped Nelson early, which was a big surprise. The decision should've been a clear UD for Leija, as he won roughly 8 rounds to 4, plus a KD. Seeing this fight, I thought for sure Leija was on his way to becoming a great, long-reigning champion.

The 3rd fight is just as worth seeing as the 2nd, but for different reasons. Nelson completely destroyed Leija in this one. It was a shocking reversal. He floored Leija early in one of the most brutal KDs I've ever seen, and Leija never really got back into the fight after that. Eventually he was busted up and beaten into a stoppage.

The 4th fight followed a similar pattern as the 2nd, and was a pretty good fight as well. By this time, Nelson was over 40 and Leija had been beaten/stopped several times. The fight was at 135, which proved to be an advantage to Leija, as Nelson clearly didn't belong at that weight. As in the 2nd fight, Leija boxed better and was busier, and won a wide decision.
