Spence has no business being on that list.

 

Not quite a top 5, but Definitely in the top 10. I think he's ahead of Tank.

 

Nor does Davis, really.

There's always an element of popularity contest about these lists... Unless it's very, very clear.

 

Tank, Usyk, Inoue, Bivol, Beterbiev, Canelo.

Then you can argue Crawford, Bam, Loma

 

Top 5 is overkill imo. TBRB also has him 5th iirc. The kid’s very good but he’s still inexperienced and has been fighting a lot of very good fighters who were also very old, which diminishes his wins over them for me. I think it’s too early to call him P4P and I’d rather see Teraji or Ioka included rather than Bam personally. He’s also been the bigger man in all his fights so far afaik, making it hard to gauge how he’d do against guys as big or bigger than him, which is pretty fundamental part of proving yourself according to the criteria of lb for lb.

 

Weird seeing how they didn't bother to put Ioka or Estrada in. He is Hearn-promoted though.

 

For me the top 6 have to be

Usyk

Crawford/Inoue

Bam/Beterbiev

Bivol

Then I'd probably go

Canelo
Lopez
Lomachenko

Tenth I'm unsure about. There's a few it's between: Nakatani, Ioka, Teraji, Alimkhanuly.

If Bam can dominate against young lions his age and size than sure.

 

It’s an American bias.. that’s the one that propel Crawford to no.1 before Usyk snatched it back..
personally I don’t think Crawford win over Spence was that great of a win.. very good win of course. I don’t view Spence that high before the Crawford loss.. and it’s a joke now to put him on the top 10.. imo he doesn’t even scrapped top 20.
