Little early there I would say! He was still fighting back, in fact was getting Figueroa into some trouble.

    Round 1 Figueroa 10-9
    Round 2 Figueroa 10-9, close
    Round 3 Figueroa 10-8
    Round 4 Castro 10-9
    Round 5 Castro 10-9
Round 6 Figueroa wins by TKO

Carlos doing a good job turning him, and landing effective work to the body, then abruptly Figueroa backs to the ropes, baits him in, then Figueroa lands several vicious counter hooks, that rock Carlos, he turns Carlos to teh ropes, and unleashes a vicious flurry, Nelson eaps in and waves it. Maybe a little early, but Caastro was falling apart.

I was annoyed by that stoppage to start with, but seeing it from Mark Nelson's perspective, maybe a bit early, but... it wasn't that bad.

Seeing a better view makes the stoppage considerably less egregious.

It seems like Figueroa hurt Castro before he turned him to the rope, could have let it a bit longer but I think Figueroa would have stopped him eventually.

This might come from my baseball background (where even briefly arguing with officials is grounds for ejection from the game at all levels), but I don't want there to be an expectation that if a fighter doesn't stage a protest after a stoppage it's assumed he agrees with it.

I'd rather hear it straight from the fighter or just judge for myself.

You could give Castro 2 4 and 5.. and that's being generous so maximum it's a tie on the score

Navarette vs Figueroa would be a very interesting match up. Figueroa has to be up there as one of the really awkward fighters, but somehow he is very effective. I still don't get how he can generate power when his shots look so weird and always looks like he is smothering his own punches, but if it works it works.

I highly doubt Frank Martin referred to Custer as BC. That was some next level third person cringe.

Yeah, just a bit before the stoppage he was firing back looking dangerous but seeing it from the front he definitely looked like he was done.

I think another few seconds could have given since Figueroa isn't some Inoue/Wilder one punch fatality type, but as they say better a moment too early than a moment too late.
