Expected to be ordered by the WBC next. Magsayo's 1st title defense against the former WBC and number one 122 pound fighter in the world Vargas. Somehow Vargas managed to become the second mandatory despite being extremely inactive (to his defense he broke his leg and Covid certainly didn't help) and last fought in November beating Baez on points.

Magsayo certainly didn't set the world on fire with his win over Russell Jr, and given Vargas' seemingly safety first type style, this has the makings of a very close and controversial fight. Although given how Magsayo is trained by Freddie Roach and Vargas is trained by Nacho Bernstein it could perhaps play out like the famous Filipino-Mexican clash. ;)

    Who are you picking?

Magsayo violently KO's Ichabod Crane, who's been hanging onto his 0 by a few ass whiskers and 2 questionable decisions for quite some time. Mark is too big, cuts off the ring too well, Vargas too chinny, and Mark's power which was enough to rock sturdy chinned GRJ a time or two, will put his lights out.
