Naoko Fujioka (15-1, 6) is a 41 year old 3-weight champion dropping from 118lbs to 112lbs to challenge WBC queen Jessica Chavez (27-4-3, 4), who is looking for her 4th defense of the title. A win for Fujioka sees her become Japan's first 4 weight champion, a win for Chavez adds to her incredible legacy, and sees her beating ANOTHER top name Only the main event will be featured in this RBR This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected
FFS! There's another under-card fight! Aaron Alameda (15-0, 9)* v Rafael Reyes (18-6, 14) - I won't be doing the RBR for the fight I'm afraid Alameda listed as 16-0 (9) on boxrec, 15 on TV graphic
Reyes down for a 9 count JUST before the bell to end round 2!...might not be be waiting much longer afterall...
Reyes was dropped again (round 5 I think, not paying much attention TBH) and appears to have been pulled out by his corner after the round! YAY!
1-Both meeting pretty central, Chavez then assumes the position on the outside, Fujioka looking to load up already, huge "Kika" chant, Fujioka appears to be looking for power on everything, a headclash upsets Kika, Chavez the much quicker fighter but looks to be very negative at times. Fujioka the aggressor - she did say she wanting a KO before the fight. Fujioka probably deserved it, Kika probably gets it
2-Fujioka continues to be the aggressor, this is getting a bit messy with Kika smothering and holding when up close, Kika gets a nice flurry off early though, lots of stop-start action with two getting too close, Fujioka's right hands going over the topof Kika's head, Kika really is frustrating with the holding. Bloody hell these rounds are flying by. Kika's round but a frustrating one to watch.
Televisa have it 19-19 after 2 3-More holding from Kika early, Kika's speed is her key but she's not able to use it enough and is holding as a result, Fujioka just trying to bomb her out and break her down, a better round than the previous one and Kika not managing to smother as much. Fujioka round for me, Kika had very limited success.
