How do people feel about Jr telling Khan to fight Vargas after the weekend fights. Vargas got a house fighters decision against Lopez.

that's just him trying to get one of his stable mates a big fight.

No way in hell does Vargas win it at this point in his career, but that is what he is trying to do.

Vargas is NOT ready for Khan! But he got good exposure from what Money said! He should use it and put in a stella performance!

The kid won the fight and won it clearly. It's obvious he is not ready for Khan but give him the credit he deserves for his hard fought victory.

    A) It wasn't a house fighter's decision. :nono I had Vargas winning by a single point. It was tougher for Vargas than expected, but he pulled it out.

    B) Khan is least effective when he has to go chasing after someone who doesn't want to be found (see Prescott), which is the style Vargas employed against Lopez and would surely duplicate against him.

Khan would be a rightful heavy favorite but in no way shape or form would it be some unsanctionable mismatch.

In fact, I think it would be less of a mismatch than Mayweather vs. Khan. :smoke

Vargas was in trouble untill he started landing that left hook to lopez body. That single punch turned the fight around. Was a tactical war both fighters fought great. Vargas needs to tighten up that defense n keep his hands up

I thought Vargas got hit too much, but won a extremely close fight. I want to see him rematch and see if he improves himself or see him against Soto Karas

The kid has no power. Even Maidana would kill him within 7. :patsch

Jesus Soto Karass? :yep The kid had a scare against a solid light welterweight, so you want him to move up and face a big strong and even more relentless welterweight?

Anyway, JSK is up against huge-punching Japanese prospect Yoshihiro Kamegai the Saturday after next. If he loses as the oddsmakers will probably have him expected to do, he'll probably be off the map for a while building up some wins back in Mexico against softer opposition. That will be five straight tries without a win. Not to mention, if Kamegai is the first person to ever knock him out he'll want to lick his wounds (physical and pride) before jumping back in with anyone high-caliber...even a somewhat delicate kid moving up in weight.

I'd most like to see him in a rematch with Lopez, to see what tweaks and improvements he makes and whether he can widen his points lead this time.

If Mayweather does stand firm and Khan takes the bait, it won't be the most disappointing match-up of the year by a damn sight but it will be a step back for Khan and a step too far too soon for Vargas.

And Joe Cortez didn't favor Jr in the Rick Hatton Fight! It was a Close fight that Vargas should not have won after losing a point. House decisions do happen.

How about giving Lopez a rematch. It was a good fight and close (I had Lopez by 95-94) so that makes more sense that Khan-Vargas
