Jessie Vargas Stock Just Went Way Up...

Yeah . a few years back I would have given Cotto a better shot, but my opinion was based solely on him being past his best days, which we all saw last nite.

 

Has no bearing on Vargas, fighter A beating fighter B has no bearing whatso ever on fighter C. Jesse Vargas isn't that good period.

Not sure what you are talking about. He got absolutely schooled for 11.9 rounds against Bradley. Getting a knockdown at the end, doesn't mean ****.

 

Why? That would make a mockery of boxing and that's not his go. He went out fighting top notch opposition just because he lost doesn't tarnish his legacy IMO. Hopkins,DLH,Tszyu and Cotto are still legends even though they went out on a loss.

I don't know what happened vs Ali vs Vargas I was telling people for 2 years prior to that fight and all the time "World Kid will be world champion" I felt really bad when he lost and had forgot about him. Technically I was right he's world champion..

 

Well he did fight Geale post GGG at a catchweight as a title defence when he was far more established than Jeff Horn. But that was an aberration as far as Cotto's career is concerned.

 

Cotto should have fought Golovkin for a huge payday, he would have lost by knockout, but he lost against Ali anyway..................
