That is good no catchweight, why should he have one if he is fighting for the title.I don't think it would be a legit title win with a catchweight. I don't think you can win a title at a weight with a catchweight. Canelo can win this. Height standing face to face looks different than in the ring. Fighters crouch and bend to accomodate the opponent. If Kovalev stands straight up that hurts him also. He will crouch and it will look more even in the ring. Kovalev has to fight a jabbing fight and setting up the punches.

 

I'm shocked some losers are saying Kovalev is shot when he easily beat Alvarez earlier this year but just cause he struggled a bit for 2 rounds in the Yarde fight, he's no good.... Kovalev was wobbled in that fight and these ****s are making it seem like he was almost knocked out...

No champion north of 160 more prolific and with a bigger fan base in the USA than Kovalev. It was the obvious choice if Canelo wants to achieve greatness and have great PPV buys, nobody knows who Smith and Beterbiev is in the general public.

Canelo is my p4p #1 if he beats Kovalev, even if it's by controversial decision similar to the GGG fights. I don't see Canelo being able to box Kovalev well enough to even put him into consideration for 7+ rounds on the cards. I also think Kovalev will give Canelo his first knockdown, despite Canelo's granite chin.

 

That's cool, but he's not facing the guy who people think beat Ward.

Personally I thought he’s been slipping since Chilemba, however he was still “elite” and imo still is albeit at the very end of his career.

But that does not detract from Canelo moving up again to fight him, personally I think that GBP/Canelo have seen something that makes this a viable fight, tbh I have too but even in their respective times in their career it’s still a great fight.

Fighters at the "very end" of their career usually don't avenge losses and win belts.
