To be fair, at least Sky show boxing on a regular basis. Also, I think that that fight says more about the awful standard of the Commonwealth title than anything.
i basically only watch the main event but feel obliged to keep the channel on even though watt puts me to sleep!,larry olabamiwos always good on an undercard
Would rather watch one fight I kind of give a **** about that two I have no interest in. Headliners this year have been worse than last year if anything.
No, I can't stand Murdoch and hate Sky to be honest. But, that said, it is always important to give credit where it is due. Sky, for all their faults (I can think of quite a few) have been good for British boxing over the years.
Yeah fair enough, I wasn't having a dig either I just noticed how you constantly give Sky credit even when the majority of the forum don't
Considering the main event was originally meant to be Macklin which was scuppered, and then the Thomson-Amar replacement main event also didn't come off....I think they have managed to pull off a legitimately interesting main event at such short notice. I'm interested to see how Vassell handles the step up in class....It will be a decent fight
Bayaar vs Sexton a couple of weeks later is worse IMO and some of the Cleverly cards last year were dreadful.
If we were talking about football you wouldn't hear a nice word about Sky from me. Sky have killed the game I loved and we'll never get it back to the way it is meant to be. Maybe because I'm old enough to remember when live boxing coverage was, by comparrison, quite rare that I'm willing to stand up for them. Sky have given us some right dross over the years, though Vassal vs Purdy isn't the worse, but at least we get to see it. At the moment Sky are keeping the British scene alive single-handed.
