This guy easily outboxed and made Lubin look like an amateur for 8 rounds. He took rounds 9-12 off for whatever reason and looked awful, but outboxing Lubin like that is impressive. Lubin sounds like he’s scared to rematch, and wants to move to the titleholders.
The OP has been blowing smoke up Ramos' backside for a while now in order to make a case for Tszyu to fight him. Too bad the Nevada judges didn't get the memo. Ramos at this point is a good 8-round fighter. He might amount to something when he learns how to fight 12 rounds & to close the show. As a prospective opponent for Timmy, I say NO to Junior Doodles. Just bring out the big Doodles & let's see how Timmy stacks up. If we're going to match Timmy with someone other than Charlo, Spence or Crawford, my vote goes to 2016 US Olympian Charles Conwell. He's far more advanced & threatening than Ramos.
He didn't impress me because he wanted to do the minimum (he wasn't gassed nor was Lubin threatening him in any way) & coast to a decision & he got punished for it by incompetent judging. He needs to fire his dad if he continues giving him shitty advice even after this asking him to coast in his future fights Boxing is sports *entertainment* at the end of the day & a fighter should always be looking for that KO unless they are a feather fist (& even feather fists should throw). Boxers who just go through the motions & do the bare minimum are poison to the sport because without fans (not the 1000 or so snooty self proclaimed "sweet science appreciators club" who probably pirate the card anyways), there is no Boxing as we know it
To be honest, while he did outbox Lubin for the first eight rounds I didn't think he looked that good either. He didn't seem to have anything special. He didn't throw combinations often. He didn't have particularly quick hands and he didn't throw power shots that looked like they would put a top opponent down for good. Ramos looked much better when he easily beat Brian Mendoza a couple of years ago. He's only 22 so I am going to take it as a slightly off night with a lot of good nights to come.
That was The most boring fight I’ve seen in a while - had I not paid $85 I would have fell asleep for sure. Absolute yawner
Ramos was okay. I was hoping for more. Lubin was just terrible though. He didn’t do anything but coast the whole 12 rounds. Not sure why the judges would give him any rounds. Anyhow I feel sad for the state of boxing that either of these guys are considered world class material.
Tszyu won every round after the first against Gausha you pillock. After the freak early knockdown that fight was as one sided as you'll see. If Ramos was any good he'd have ended Lubin or won a very clear decision. Lubin is a clown who Tszyu would decapitate. Ramos is trash.
Not sure he was "impressive" as Lubin was "unimpressive" He definitely deserved the win though........wasn't even a close fight
