Jesus Soto Karass is the epitome of a ring warrior. It's amazing after all the tough wars he's been in (sometimes against bigger, stronger fighters like Gabriel Rosado) how Soto Karass is able to come back and put on fine performances like his fight with Aydin and, still better, his win last night over Andre Berto. Some of his family members were sitting behind me at ringside during his fight with Selcuk Aydin. I was cheering along with them during that fight. Props to the courageous ring warrior Jesus Soto Karass. Viva Mexico! :thumbsup
Soto Karass vs. Broner would be an interesting matchup. Soto Karass is rather like a bigger version of Ponce de Leon, who was robbed against Broner.
Lol, ya'll love fighters with losses under their belts. Be it Rosado or Soto-Karass or whoever. Funny to me considering that Rosado is kind of a douche and Soto-Karass is dirty and constantly getting hit for low-blows. But like I said, as long as they lose, no one has a problem.
Glad he finally is in the place he needs to be and understands what he has to do to succeed. Was abit unwise to stick him in with Maidana but he showed in that fight that he was game.
The undefeated A-Hole could be a warrior, too, though. And for the record, I like both Rosado and Karass. I just get annoyed how everytime they win or lose, people ride their jocks and act as if they're better people than everyone.
I'm glad he won last night. I always liked his goofy, crass sense of humor and of course his entertaining style. His fight with David Estrada was a mezmirising crash at the cross roads a few years back. I hope JSK get a few decent paydays in winnable fights before he gets fed to a top level guy. I think bouts against Randall Bailey, Julio Diaz, Josesito Lopez, or Carlos Quintana would all be lucrative and entertaining.
Karass does come to fight all the time. His fights are entertaining but he can't seem to take it to the championship level. However it might be his time to get a title and Alexander's is the one at most risk. If he can't take that title then he is a true gatekeeper.
I think given the right matchup JSK could be a champion, but Alexander isn't it, which is why the Alexander team is bringing him up as an alternative to Khan. JSK struggles against boxer-types at higher levels and Alexander, flawed as he is, has the tools to win a shutout type decision against JSK.
Gotta love the underdogs man. I told you guys SK had the potential to be a late bloomer in the game and IMO he's a modern day Rocky and may follow in the footsteps of other fighters like Jose Luis Castillo and Glenn Johnson who despite having multiple losses NEVER stopped them from beating the best. With his experience, determination, and perseverance he'll quickly become a fan favorite and lets hope he can ride the momentum, see how far to the top he can get. I remember him awhile back adopting Margarito's style to brawl which may suit him every now and then, but he's got very good underrated boxing skills. He'll give elites problems, but he has plenty of opponents GBP can match him up with. Nice to see an underdog get their due.
He's not going to have that kind of longevity because he doesn't have much defensive ability and has been in a ton of wars now. That said, it is nice to see the underdog win, that is true.
