Asianboxing has a bizarre explanation for the shortening odds
"he has been very confident in the build up, and it may be that the bookies have been swayed by his unwavering confidence."

Uchiyama was simply too slow, he got utterly destroyed, it wasn't even a lucky punch or anything like that that did it, they looked levels apart from the get go.

Not making excuses but I think age/injury (something that he had a couple months back) played a pretty big role in his decline.

Uchiyama a few years back would have beaten Jazreel decisively. Just my 2 cents.

    Don't care if you agree.

I think you're selling Corrales short Beast, he was pretty sloppy in some of the older matches I've seen of his, but he looked sensational against Rodriguez, he'd sharpened up his defense a lot, and fought a very patient, controlled and intelligent fight, he was countering Rodriguez beautifully. He's definitely improved lately.

I'm not overrating him, I said on a couple of threads I thought he'd be a threat to Uchiyama just based on his speed and awkward style, and that style and speed won't be easy for a lot of other SFW's to deal with either. Whether you like it or not, he's a player in the division who should be taken seriously. That was no fluke today.

We have to agree to disagree on this one, I'm not the biggest fan of Corrales and it bums me out that he stopped Uchiyama, who I am a big fan of, but you're not giving him nearly enough credit.

Uchiyama was good, he had a very American style, boxer-puncher, but he got taken to hell by Miura, he was lucky the fight was stopped. Miura deserved a rematch and wouldn't of surprised me if he beat Uchiyama the 2nd time around. If Vargas gets by Salido, he needs to give Miura that rematch. Miura gave him an opportunity, now Bandido must return the favor. Those 2 were made for each other and potentially make more classic fights.

Nothing at all from Uchiyama or his camp to suggest anything negative at all. No rumours,no post fight excuses, nothing.

Corrales had gone over there and charmed the media and what not, had looked cool as a cucumber and was apparently giving off an aura of "I'm gonna win".

I just saw the replay, that first left that put Uchiyama down was vicious, every streak has it's end I guess
