Loma's an underrated puncher at featherweight, and GRJ bore up reasonably well under the pressure. Gonzalez's power at 126 was slightly overrated, imo. Yeah, he blasted out Mares and Hasegawa, but Hozumi had already been stopped at bantam and Mares was coming up from a smaller weight.

Given that Russell Jr held the speed and skill advantage, I'm not all that surprised at the result...though I am surprised that he achieved the result so quickly.

except loma, they could fight 200x and loma would beat him more convincingly each time out. unless grj had like food poisoning or smg terribly wrong going into the loma fight.

didnt hear anything of the sort tho

What are you talking about? Loma beat Russell because of his S&C coach. Russell didn't have any energy. He'll easily win a rematch against Loma.

Right, he said her first but then followed it up with "more importantly, my father" I guess technically he's right though but still...sounds all kinds of messed up.

What are you talking about? The guy was wobbling around the ring. He wasn't off-balance and fell to the floor or something.

Loma beat GRJ because his timing and skill supercedes GRJ's speed. That will continue to hold true in the rematch.

So the bundle I lost on González might actually be offset by my earnings on the Under (which of course had been contingent on the assumption that it would be González ending it within 9.5 :lol:)

Hey, whatever, I'll take it. :!:

I know, I just found Russell's excuses funny. He didn't want to give credit to Loma for being a better fighter than him. No shame in it.

GRJ surprised me with his skills tonight. This reflects very well on Lomachenko.
