I like this Lacefield kid. He's very tough, a tough hombre, he's got raw skills, and I would say with the right management I think he could be a decent journeyman/fringe contender. If I were an old dude I would like to train this kid. And he's only 18 years old. He's got some skills, he just needs some tuning up.

    Round 4

Horribly painful right hand landed by Garcia. Left hooks now visibly affecting Lacefield, but he hangs in there. Garcia pushes him to the ropes but can't keep him there despite connecting a fair bit. Lacefield is able to shimmy and wriggle off the ropes and tie up just long enough to survive as Garcia repeatedly hammers him with straight lefts and rights mixed in with lift-you-off-your-feet body shots. Lacefield is hurt badly by a shot just as the referee steps in to pry Garcia off, yelling "Whoa whoa!!". :? Was there a foul there? What happened? He gave Lacefield a break. Garcia keeps smacking away at him, and again the referee pulls him off. Lacefield gets a jab going, but is backing off warily and no longer looking like he wants to mix up. Stiff jab by Garcia snaps his head back. Lacefield shoeshines to the body long and hard, but has very little wind.

The bell rings and a pulpy-looking Lacefield staggers into his corner.

Crap, I only caught half the punch stats before they yanked the graphic.

    256 thrown 57 landed 22%

    I think Garcia's.

Nobody is saying to **** on him and point out their flaws, but they need to relax on the hype. Don't worry about building stars, just make great fights and stars will emerge. Is Gonzalez-Russell Jr a good fight? Yes? There you go, Russell has a chance to prove himself then and really start up the hype train. Excuse me for not sucking his **** after an 8 round fight. **** me.

his defense is awful and he was already worn out in round 4, but i have to agree he did a lot of things right like moving/side stepping and picking the right time to thrown and land his punches.

All three judges have 39-37 for the unanimous decision winner, Joel Garcia.

What round was strong enough for Lacefield that he officially got it thrice? :think

Lacefield hoisted Garcia up when the decision was read out. What a nice young dude. (and able to deadlift his own weight as easily as an ant!)

Wish I could see this.. I trained in the same gyms as Escalante and The Garcia Brothers.

The oldest Garcia brother was something special.. About the size of a LHW with some knockout power in the amateurs.
