Escalante continuing to move up in weight is not good.

Like the Roman-Meza bout, this is "technically" still at super featherweight like Escalante's disastrous last outing even though both came well above the limit.

    In principle though, I agree.

    Round 1

Escalante ducks forward, blocks a jab and hops back. Cuevas lunges with a jab, way too long and overextended. Escalante is keeping his distance. Finally Escalante charges and crashes into Cuevas, bouncing off of him and falling back on his ass. No knockdown (even though Cuevas had been flailing wildly at him with a right cross before and during the fall). Escalante lands some body shots and darts outside, continuing to run around and keep a spring in his knees. Cuevas tags him with a heavy but slow hook to the face while Escalante is circling out. Escalante uses a lot of nervous movement, moving his right glove into catching position. Now Escalante drives Cuevas into the corner with a long combo of hard straight lefts and rights followed by a triple hook to the face.

    Ref stoppage!

..and it doesn't matter.. Escalante hurt him, pounded on him, stopped him on his feet.

ESPN3. As in ESPN3.com - on your computer.

You've missed the whole undercard as of a minute ago, though. :yep

I think you need Comcast (or similar internet) to get it.

Don't think it's on actual TV.

Cuevas was there to get KO'd.. but Antonio needed that for his confidence.

The crowd is booing the stoppage, and at first it seemed quick to me - but the slow motion replay clearly shows Pipino was out on his feet and propped with his back against the Corona post slumping & held up only by Escalante's punches.

    That was weak. Boooo.

Well, that was a great big waste of time, now I'm glad I didn't go to the show.
