Choynski was just beginning his career. How do you know he landed flush shots on Corbett have you seen the fights ?Fitz was not the champion Corbett was ,and the morning of the fight he weighed 157lbs as witnessed by writer Bob Davis who was in Fitz's training camp. Corbett had 20 fights, my misreading ,was ko'd 3 times and rescued from another ko by his second jumping into the ring to save him causing an immediate dsq.So 20 fights in which he failed to finish 4 times ,and you want to pretend that is durable? The Kilrain fight was only a 6 rounder, the McCoy fight may well have been a fake. Jackson's ko percentage is 37%and he was hampered bya sprained ankle in this fight.Corbett has the worst record of any lineal heavyweight champion.

I actually read the fight reports. Please try it sometime, or you can read what I have to say, and learn.

Choysnki vs Corbett was brutal. Flush shots were landed, read the reports! Corbett's s manager, William Brady said the epic 27th round fight between Choynski and Corbett was even better than Sharkey vs Jeffries 2!

Fitz was an all time puncher, it took him 14 rounds, behind on point to stop Corbett.

Peter Jackson could hit hard, George Siler and many others, including Jeffries say so. Once again read the reports. The various ND's in 4 rounds dull Jackson's KO Percentage. What about Sam Langford's KO percentage? Are you telling me he can't hit?

McCoy was rated as a top 100 puncher by ring magazine, he landed hard. Read the fight reports. They went at each other. It was not a fake. McCoy's word can not be trusted. He was tricky in more ways then one.

So what if Kilrain was a 6 rounder, he was a puncher, wasn't he?

All these fight, which happened with light ounce glove show Corbett had a solid chin.

Okay, now you have the Ko'd amount times correct, I'm going to point out that two of them would not have happened in a 12 round format and the one that did happened when he was well past his prime. Corbett has way more than 20 fights. Box Rec just doesn't know about them or list some of the shorter ones as news wins. them

So the no dec's Jackson was involved in precluded him for going for a ko?lol
Kilrain was a puncher with a 38% ko record!
    You're hilarious!

Corbett's reputation has taken a hit in recent years, and I have been one of his critics.

I think that Bob Fitzsimmons has a far superior resume at heavyweight for example.

    All that misses the point.

The one thing that Corbett should not be criticized for, is his ability to outbox his opponents.

If he had top end durability, or fought in an era of twelve round fights, he would likely have beaten everybody in that era.
