An interesting note here is that Floyd Patterson said that Ingo hit harder then Liston, and he would have known. I have to take Ingo here because of his big right hands somewhere along the route.

Then he's gonna break his hand.

He'd have to take something off his punch, or he won't last three rounds.

I'd take the experienced Corbett over Johannsson, under the London Prize rules.

Corbett would have a huge advantage under London Prize Ring rules because it was not far removed from the discipline he fought under.

Corbett used a stance that was basicaly a bare knuckle stance and he fought some bouts with 2oz leather gloves. Not a huge adjustment for him to make to fight LPR.

Corbett, a great and underrated fighter, would hit Johansson with shots he wouldn´t even see, Johansson´s only chance would be a lucky punch with " Thor´s hammer"...

    Corbett TKO 13 Johansson

Personally I would pick Corbett to stop Johanssen pretty early (not longer than 6) under this rules-set.

I cannot believe how little respect Johannsson is getting here. This guy was not a bad fighter by any means. He had a nice consistent jab, good sense of range, and a massive right hand. No reason to think this would be an easy fight for Corbett.

I don´t think Ingemar is underrated here, he was a very good fighter with some good wins like against Patterson, Machen, Cavicchi, London, etc. but on the other side Corbett was a master boxer, the Ali of his time, and the London Prize Rules are also an advantage for Corbett, here he could wrestle a bit, if Ingo would land his right hand he would have enough time to recover, etc...

Corbett was kod by a body shot from a fighter only 7 lbs over the middleweight limit, its entirely possible that Ingo lands his hammer of Thor and gets Jim out of there.

I read that Patterson was asked who hit him the hardest,he said Ingo, the reporter was stunned, and he said to Floyd,"I thought you would say Liston".Floyd replied,"oh I thought you mean't of the fighters I thought I could beat.

Perhaps, but a 35 year old Corbett went 25 rounds with Jeffries, and I heard Jeff was pretty decent.
