Dewitt Van Court "In my opinion Jeff will win inside 6 rounds" Spokane Press Jan15th 1910! LOL.
"For the past year Jeffries had not touched liqour or cigarettes Whereas Johnson was known to eat and drink and enjoy life between fights.Plus of mid January,1910 Jeffries still had another 5 and a half months to train." Los Angeles Herald Jan16th 1910
".On October 22nd1909 James J Jeffries returned for his trip to Carlsbad Bohemia"."He looked solid, without superfluous flesh .He said he weighed around 228lbs,the last time he checked. In Europe he had done 10 miles roadwork every morning. In the afternoons he worked in the gymnasium." San Francisco Evening Post October 22nd1909 and New York times Oct 23rd 909.
"The Examiner printed photos of Jeff proving he had lost his paunch, and was 50lbs lighter, proving that the stories of his systematic training were true."Jack Johnson The Reign"Adam Pollack page 226.
" Jeffsaid he had taken off 25lbs since the start of his training and was weighing225lbs"San Francisco Evening post May 1th 1910.

All Jeffries did in this fight was what Ali did for Holmes, lose weight and come in at a poundage making everyone think this would be a fight. I might take a prime Jeff to beat Jack

You're entitled to your opinion and you would not be alone in it.
Jeffries came back at 35 ,Johnson was 32 Jeffries had been inactive for nearly 6 years and had 18 months to train.3 years age difference.
Ali was 38 ,HOLMES 30.Ali had not fought for 2 years ,and began training on March 8th 1980 the anniversary of FOTC.He fought Holmes on the 10th of October 1980.8 years age difference a week before the Holmes fight Ali collapsed whilst doing road work, taking tablets for a thyroid problem he was dehydrated and unable to run a mile. His chief sparring partner Tim Witherspoon said he looked terrible and was awful in sparring.
I'm positive Ali was much further gone than Jeffries was, his health problems were really serious by this time, not just physical but neurological too.
