    A bloodbath either way.

I will take Jeffries by decision.

If all the stories told about Jeffries are true he would kill Willard.

I don't see Willard winning but he might go the distance, he had a top chin.

I am not sure how much use a good chin was against Jeffries.

His games seems to have consisted mainly of body attack!

Willard has no chance. Wide, wide, points decision for Jeffries probably with horrible wrestling from about 10 on.

And he rarely took out a top challenger early. If Sharkey could go a total of45rounds with him, going into his punches all night, why couldn't the more durable and considerably bigger Willard do the same?

This was my thinking. And Jim's best challengers weren't exactly the biggest lads.

I can't say that he definitely wouldn't, but Jeffries body attack tended to get people in the end.

It didnt get a33 years old 188lbs Corbett until the 23rd round.
    It didn't get a 167lbs 37 years old Fitzsimmons until the 11th .
It didn't get a167lbs Choynski over 20 rounds.
It didn't get a180lbs Sharkley over a total of 45 rounds.
So, remembering this is over 20 rds , just who are you referring to?:huh

Jeffries power is overated , otherwise he would have stopped men he outweighed by up to 60lbs.
He was a grinder and he would be facing a novel experience, a man actually bigger than himself.

    Which 6-6 strong-as-an-ox people?

That said, Willard lost to some less than awe inspiring folks. Jeffries, for all purposes of this discussion, never lost.

Again, I pick Jim but with Jim's M.O. it would be a bloodbath.

A clinch fest with the better athlete who fought better opposition prevailing rather comfortably.

Yes ,Willard could punch but Jeffries chin was top shelf.Jeffries takes it ,but Jess might win more rounds than expected.
