You get whatever version of him you think is prime. I don't set a lot of store by Jeffries supposed improvement against Corbett in their second fight because I think Corbett was washed up and it probably flattered Jeffries somewhat. Since Jeffries fought no one between his second fight with Fitz ,when it was stated Fitz hit him when and where, and when he pleased, and the second Corbett fight where did he acquire this new found expertise from? Like- wise Ryan's advice to fight cautiously in their first fight played into Corbett's hands.
Then I would favour the Jeffries of the second Corbett fight, but not the version of the first Corbett fight. I think that he had refined his game by then, and was inherently more aggressive.
