That footage is so unclear it's difficult to even make out the punches. Not sure what you think it proves.
I can make it out pretty well. Two oafs waddling around, wide open, leading with sloppy hooks and body shots. An in shape, prime Dokes would have a field day with opponents of that ilk.
Picking Michael Dokes over James J Jeffries, is the equivalent of picking Gus Ruhlin over Larry Holmes. It is not impossible to make a rational case, but it would require an absolutely blinding stylistic argument.
