It's bigoted for you to say Jeffries couldn't hit. Those who saw or fought him disagree with you. He floored every man he faced except Johnson and has some 10 count KO's on his resume. I have posted the testimonials before, and I'm sure you'll see plenty of them in Adam's book. Yet you keep the same tune...

Like I said Rickard said he was the hardest hitter he ever saw, and that includes Dempsey who most agree was a big puncher, including yourself.

If you have to use Hide and Gonzalez to buttress Bowe lack of punchers faced, you're in trouble. Another boxer you think has over rated power in Vitali Klitschko finished Hide in 2 rounds. It took Bowe 5, and Bowe said Hide was the hardest hitter he ever faced...possibly correct because he didn't face Lewis, Morrison, Tua, Tyson, and many other
punchers.

Andrew Golota hurt and pounded on Bowe in both fights. He's likely the best puncher Bowe fought as a pro. Look at what happened!

In the amateurs, Lewis easily hurt Bowe with his right hand and another guy early in the Olympic tournament floored him too. Bowe did not have a good chin or defense. Sometimes he had a soft midsection. Bowe would not last vs Jeffries. He was carefully managed to avoid punchers.

Gonzalez was terribly overrated. In fact, I doubt he was ever rated! He didn't beat a top 40 guy when Bowe gave him a title shot. Gonzalez was a mouthy big man with a soft chin and no defense. After Bowe beat him, he was KO'd six times, by an older Witherspoon, Purity, Grant, Couser, Mesi, and Bryant. Essentially Gonzalez was a guy manager called when moving their prospects up. History shows Gonzalez was fodder for up and coming heavyweights and means very little on Bowe's resume.

 

I have never said Jeffries couldn't hit I said he was a grinder , he was perceived as such during his time and is so perceived today.

Which 200 pounder in his prime who had any class did Jeffries actually ko? I'l help you out here NONE!

Vitali stopping Hide has zero input into Hide's power.Hide was a big puncher!

What happened in the amateurs is irrelevant to pro boxing, as you would know had you done either..
Whether Gonzalez was rated or not , or who subsequently stopped him again has nothing to do with his power ,he was a big puncher!
When this match was originally mooted I picked Jeffries ,all I've done here is present an alternative scenario but you're too dumb to grasp that.

Save the cr*p I've heard it all before, it was agenda driven rubbish the first time around ,and it hasn't improved with the repeated telling of it.:-(

 

I thought I had heard it all, but someone claiming Hide was NOT a big puncher takes the biscuit. Sh!t chin, sure, B level fighter why not? But to claim the guy wasn't a big puncher is plain stupidity. And a blown up Cruiser to boot.
