...& ??? I've heard conflicting reports about who is going to wear Mic #3 at the broadcast table - with both Roy Jones Jr. and James Brown (from CBS, host of NFL Tonight, formerly worked HBO WCB for 12 years, rumored to be a commentator on the upcoming Al Haymon PBC series) named on social media. Either way, it could be seen as being a "coup" for either network to have an imbalance on the onscreen crew. Jones obviously would tilt it HBO's way, and Brown represents Showtime's parent company. Anyway, regardless of who else is there, Lampley and Bernstein will make for a very interesting combination. Both have great enthusiasm for the sport but very different approaches to calling the action in their mannerisms and dispositions. It'll be surreal, kind of like the Bugs & Mickey scene: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWpei5Xppog
I think they should have Pauly and Kellerman along side these two legends. Represents the old and new on both networks.
not very impressed with any commentators in this era but of the bunch i'd choose: Bernstein Pauli Kellerman
Agree:good I would love to hear drunk Larry tell Floyd: "If I were 55 yrs younger I would kick ya a....s....s...":nut :smoke
You have to remember for the replay depending on what they agreed to you will have to have commentators for who gets the rights also at least that is how it was for the Lennox-Tyson fight I have 2 different versions on DVD of that fight one is the original that was Lampley and Bobby Czyz and the other is Foreman, Merchant and I can't remember or something close to that since HBO's fighter won they got the replay rights. I have no idea if they will do in the same way for the May 2nd fight just throwing this out there. Steve Albert and someone else did the Showtime broadcast that nobody saw since Tyson lost.
Everything about the fight is surreal at this point to me When I heard it will be both Al and Jim, it just added to the list. And I was pleasantly surprised they were doing it that way. Glad they fit Al in there for the biggest fight of our age. I hope Roy makes the 3rd mic.
Larry's overrated wrinkly old ass gonna run away with this. :-( Should've left him off the poll or left an "Other". (hoping everyone would forget him) He and Tarver were tacked on at the bottom as 'free agents' since neither technically works for HBO or Showtime anymore - but then I remembered Tarver is going to PBC on CBS, making him still as much a Showtime man as Brown. I should've put "Other/Free Agent" in lieu of Merchant so people could write-in votes for Colonel Bob Sheridan, Wally Matthews, or the guys from NBC SN or FS1...
