I just caught the replay and that point in the middle of the fight where Lampley just goes wild in his praise for Pacquiao. Bang, bang, bang... He was like my drunken cousin at the Tyson Lewis PPV. I had to kick him out of the house at around 10:30pm. Can HBO put Lampley out to pasture?
lampleys pathetic attempt to make a pathetic fight exciting unfortunatley watching paint dry more exciting than that fight
is this what you're talking about? [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ts-rLGkJNEo"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ts-rLGkJNEo[/ame] :yep
Lampley wasn't into the fight. That was just a transparent attempt to make it sound like he was. Actually, HBO wasn't into "The Event" and the commentators made it show. From Lampley's and Steward's commentating to Kellerman's deprecation of the value of the higher seats, HBO seemed determined to make the fans feel swindled by Top Rank. Not that we weren't, but HBO should still try to put on a good show. I felt terrible for making my friends watch that card and started feeling it when the commentators kept repeating how insignificant to boxing the Gomez-Castillo fight was.
I figured Lampley was being overdramatic as he often is, and trying to make the fight more excitement. By the time his rant was over, it seemed like he was just imaging what it would be like to be Manny Pacquiao, and what he'd be saying to Clottey if he were in the ring. Surely it must be more empowering to be able to beat up professionally trained fighters rather than 120 pound women. Lampley can only just fantasize about it.
BANG BANG you wanna hit me? BANG BANG BANG you wanna throw punches? BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG! that **** was ******ed haha
Lampley sounded like he wanted to punch Manny Stewart in the face since they were arguing and let out his anger by having an orgasm whenever PacGwire threw punches.
Yea I caught the HBO replay a couple of nights ago (since I watched the Sky Sports Pacquiao-Clottey feed live) and Lampley sounded really pissed over something throughout the fight.
