Did you just stop reading at the bold?

So... you accept that Holyfield drew with Lewis, Whitaker drew with Chavez, Oscar lost to Trinidad, and that Chageav lost to Valuev? Are these boxing judges kings or something? They're human beings capable of being biased or bought by Don King's money. Why should we only give them the power by ignoring events and letting them always dictate the result, even when the entire world knows a bad decision was rendered, or that the "fix" was in.

Nobody denies that Morales lost the official fight, but that doesn't mean events don't exist in boxing. Merchant passed the torch to Lampley to inform the boxing public that events exist, and happen in boxing. :deal

    You've seen the light. :happy

It takes a little courage to admit when you're wrong. Glad you're beginning to understand the importance of events in boxing.

Are those really the only two fights in which a commentator stated that a boxer "won the event"

It's fantastic that two honoury members of the Main Event Mafia, Larry Merchant and Jim Lampley, continue to fulfill their responsiblity as broadcasters and educate the masses about event winning in boxing.

    Thank you guys

man I don't remember the fight exactly, but it was RIGHT after the first times Event threads popped up on ESB I heard Kellerman say it. I can't remember what he was talkin' about. Will try to find it.
