I used to have a lot more respect for this guy but come on how much cotto ass licking can this guy do?? Does he not realize he is on the air?? Then he whined like a little ***** during the instant replay saying Margarito hit cotto while he was down and thats a big thing in Nevada. when they look at the final punch numbers he talks about how much cotto outboxed and outjabbed margarito, he didn't talk about how many times margarito pushed the fight to cotto to the ropes and assaulted him all night. This guy is a joke

He was embarrassing last night, no doubt. Truly atrocious.

Reminds me of how he used to slob on Jermaine Taylor's knob.

In the 4th round, I think it was, he was basically giving Manny and Kellerman **** for saying Cotto would be in trouble later in the fight due to the pressure he was taking and energy he was having to expend on his bike.

Lamps, that's why you're a play by play guy and not an analyst.

When Lamps started to basically cry at the end of the telecast it was more than a bit awkward. That's what happens when you jockride a fighter and he gets Pwned.

Lampley was blind last night. 8-2 Cotto by the start of round 11 on his agenda. Every exchange was in Cotto's favor.

Sad. I used to respect Lampley's quick wit, his ability to mediate between, say, Foreman and Merchant -- and his command of the language.

But now I think he's turning into a joke. Shame.

By being pro-Cotto, he was probably doing what his bosses told them to do.

By the way, journalism doesn't have to be objective.

He is just doing his job which is to hype the household fighter and convinces the casual boxing fans who don't know how to watch boxing. THe whole HBO crew are idiots except Max Kellerman. The rest are sell outs. I had Margarito even with Cotto coming in the 11th.

Actually, objectivity is the foundation of journalism. If you're presenting the news, you must be objective or your credibility is called into question. Your ability to present an unbiased account of anything is suspect.

That's the path down which Lampley is headed. From trusted blow-by-blow guy, to shady blowhard. Sad.

You guys must not watch enough sports to know what bias anoucer is, the guy about as fair as you can get, sometimes people see things diffrent, an this guy give both sides pretty well, most people had cotto ahead going into the 11th, an he was boxing well at times......now was he wrong, he no cry baby, he just loves the sport

I had the fight even as well but anyone could see that Margarito was really coming on strong and getting to cotto. he had him hurt bad in the 5th or 6th round, badly at end of the 10th, it was only a matter of time before he wouldnt have anything left.

The worst part about it is that he tried to pretend it was because of the cancer-stricken camera man, but everybody knew it was because House Fighter Cotto got owned.

Sad stuff. Time for some more whacky tebacky, Jim. Just keep your girlfriend away this time when you toke up.

I too hated Lampleys commentary, everytime Kellerman or Steward would say something in favour of Margarito Lampley always had to jump in and dispute it or just ignore it and start blathering all about how Cotto was winning and everything Margarito was doing was ineffective. It was the most biased commentating since Bobby Czyz was on the Tyson-Holyfield showtime commentary team.
