Part of me knew he would mention Barrera and Morales. I think he likes saying "BARRERA" in that clear voice of his. Hell, I could listen to him say Barrera all day.
Lampley is definitely talented on the mic. He's very eloquent and can speak quickly. He has a lot of passion and mostly understands what he's watching for a guy who has probably never sparred. I think he's a big part of what made the HBO brand a cut above the rest in their time, and even a cut above what we have today. RIP Lamps.
That man knows his boxing. He has an encyclopaedic knowledge. Is he working anywhere these days? Absolute crime if not.
There are much better fights that he called than the ones he picked. Chavez-Taylor Bowe-Holyfield The Marquez-Pacquiao fights …….and many more...... Does'nt make sense to me that he picks a GGG fight against a C level opponent.
Theres a difference between someone picking the best fights theyve seen, and picking their favorites. Pretty sure these are his personal favorites... doesnt really matter if theres better fights in that case.
