really disapointed with Degales improvement. Bags of unpolished talent. But lack fundermentals that will serve him at the higher level. I know its become a little too common to suggest Jimmy Tibbs as the saviour to all British boxers. But Tibbs clearly has the character and skills to shape Degale into a top world class boxer. Problem is Degale doesnt want a coach telling him what to do. he'd rather have someone like Jimmy Mac blow smoke up his behind.

You would think the past two performances would have opened Degales eyes to his technical weaknesses. I mean he could have had much easier night if he had a tighter defense and better tactics.

We certainly didnt see Degale getting clipped like he has recently during the olympics

I think Degale likes the feeling of being top boy in the class and couldn't handle Tibbs having and training other good prospects.

I think De gale gets too much stick on here.Yes he could have done a little more by now but it isnt as though he has had any bad loses. He needs to make this a big year though and if by June things are not moving along he needs to look at making changes.

Jim has always been deluded, he was trying to resurrect his career long long after the brutal kenny vice beatdown.

still euro champ in your 12th fight aint bad, he'll give u some entertaining nights will degale in the future.

He was the one making ridiculous claims and a lot hi fans followed him. I think the extreme reversal is partly down to that. But he has looked crap since the Paul Smith fight, and even that's been overshadowed with the way Groves took him out.

I don't like him, never will, but the majority of his flaws as a fighter should have been corrected in four years. Lack of fights, a poor trainer, and what appears like a low desire to do anything different.

    totally agree
4 years is a massive amount of time for a full timer fighter to make changes and improvements and de gale hasnt made any. His punching technique is woeful and its not like he has the calzaghe excuse of trying to hand cuff guys with volume - i think everyone on this board can see him getting beat again and not by anyone at world level. He might look ok against come forward type but i think anyone who can really box will cause him aggro

I like the guy but just feel he wont achieve his full potential with Jim Mac, I think James could have got this far on his own.

Groves didn't exactly take him out he won by one point on the scorecards.

I thought Taylor was referring to DeGale looking crap against Paul Smith, and Georgr Groves knocking Smith out after beating DeGale.

Since when has a second round knockout been a point apart on the cards?

Batklit had it right somewhat. I was saying:

The last time DeGale looked good was against Smith, but considering how Groves took Smith out, that looks less impressive. That sort of confusion happens with more than two subjects in a sentence, but the context of the comments should have given it away.

See, why couldnt you have just left it at 'That looks less impressive'

No need for the hostilty. You're an angry angry man when you feel you comments are being discounted

I'm not angry in the slightest - just pointing out that I made it more confusing that it needed to be, but he could have figured it out.

If I called him a ****wit then I'd be being hostile. I'm not insulting him.
