Degale will follow the path of Danny Williams. Expect to see him pushing cars and doing strong man type training.

This is a **** move on the part of Degale. I think he just wanted a yes man and he certainly has one in Jimbo.

I thought James would train himself.

Wouldn't have thought DeGale would want anyone to make any money from his name, would you ;)

i think you guys have DeGale all wrong. you seem to think hes gonna be this gutless wonder who doesnt work cos hes got a million quid. you need heart to win 5 fights in 20 days. Harrison is an exception to the rule.

He chose McDonnell as he is the best avalible trainer in London

Another Khan type cop out from Degale, just not prepared to move to get the best training until it is too late. As Roy Castle used to sing :

Degale should have moved rather than going with second best.

Yes Khan has moved but only after doing exactly what degale is doing now. Getting second rate trainers just so they can stay close to home is not a good idea in the long term.

Ingle would have been good choice for Degale but he would not be the yes man degale was seeking.

I like Jim McDonnell and saw him box many times, but he's not a trainer in the proper sense of the word.................he's a 'conditioner'. He'll get Degale super fit but I doubt he'll improve his skills a great deal

I thought he would have gone to the Ingle's with the style he has.
If he didn't want to move, then maybe team up with Ian Napa at Brian Lawrence, James Cook?

Jim IS a good trainer by the way, but not sure about the style match up?
