A few weeks back i kinda agreed but was non nonplussed bout this issue but after tonight i totally agree. He scored that fight according to a pre determined mind set...not to what he felt in general and what he saw as winning the round. Valuev might as well shadow boxed in his own corner and hit thin air and Watt still give fight to him. He wouldn't even accept Haye won he still had to go with his verdict which was poor imo. You cannot score fights just because you feel the judges will see it that way...he's payed for his opinion..and tonight he let himself down. Edit:I got impression Ian Darke was sick of his comments aswell.
Seriously poor, with a man crush on Valuev. Valuev did nothing but plod forward and miss badly, yet a Valuev round according to Watt.
Jim Watt's time is up. His scoring is awful. I remember he scored Burns v O'Hara a draw when Burns won comfortably. He is just horrific 2 listen 2, like a broken record. P45 in the post on Monday from Sky hopefully!!!
Darke was trying to moderate his bull**** for the most part. He done a great job of not letting Watt get out of hand. Watt is a tosser.
Jim Watt was shocking tonight, even worse than he was at the Moore v Rhodes fight... :hi::hi::hi::hi: :barf:barf :barf...Time to go Jim..:barf:barf:barf :hi::hi::hi::hi:
Any boxer that throws a jab consistently will always get Watt's praise. He also dislikes pot-shotters (even though he forgave it in Mayweather's win over Marquez - when Mayweather had no excuse for not putting his combinations together) He's a terrible commentator. When you listen to the quality of Woodhall's comments on 5Live, you can really see the difference between a guy that can score a fight, irrespective of his personal bias and Jim Watt.
I didn't understand his bull**** about Haye's negativity, but apart from that he was alright. I just like having him around for when it's exciting, I really do enjoy his shouting. I got such a kick out of when he was like "RICKY IS USING THE SAME NAIVE TACTICS AS HE DID AGAINST MAYWEATHER, I DON'T BELIEVE THIS!" Kinda like the JR of boxing commentary to me. Plus, he looks hilarious, just like he's woken up in a room he doesn't remember falling asleep in.
I don't rate him but I can see why he thought Valuev won, its not often you go away from home and win a belt by using skills and boxing in and out. Froch Dirrell anyone?
Jim Watt was dreadfull, but Richie Woodhall can be just as bad, remember his scoring of Kotelnik-Rees? Even Steve Bunce called him out on it, on live tv.
