Norwich beat Poulton 7-0 today. Jim Watt scored it 0 - 0.

I liked how his argument was that 'can you really score a round on one or two punches?' Yes of course you can when the other guy isn't landing anything you numpty.

Apart from round 6 - which you scored even and I had for Haye - your card is identical to mine. 115-113 Haye.:good

o.k, I might be swimming against the tide here but I'm going to stand up for Jim Watt.

David Haye's output was not enough tonight and I honestly believe that, despite similar accusations being thrown at Watt, those people who had Haye winning by 3-4 rounds went into the fight disliking Valuev and his some of his previous victories that have been "suspect". The same as the judges who scored it 116-112 to Haye. I seriously believe that in the front of their minds they were scared of awarding the fight to Valuev at the risk of being accused of a bad decision.

Valuev, I admit, did not produce a lot of work tonight but he produced a lot more than the 2 or 3 good punches that Haye landed in most rounds. He boxed better than anytime I have seen him tonight and, in my opinion, won the fight by 3 rounds. (Valuev 7, Haye 4, Level 1)

I wanted David Haye to win and wanted Valuev to retire afterwards but, once again in my opinion, I think Valuev, just like Holyfield nearly a year ago, has been denied victory by poor judges.

^ exactly, the amount of casuals i've heard saying Haye was very lucky to get the decision and was shite all because "even the commentator said so"

Its criminal to still be employing an old senile geezer when excellent commentators like Woodhall are knocking about (i have respect for Watt btw just on the account of him being a very good former pro, but his time is up)

Totally agree,he deserves respect for what he did as a fighter. But it's time to get rid of him as a commentator imo.

Jim Watt couldnt score a football match.

Short of coming out and saying he hates Haye I don't know what more he could have done. Don't get me wrong there were quite a few rounds where I thought Haye should have put in a bit more work but he was hitting Valuev flush with what he did throw and Valuev was missing all night.

Even post fight he didnt have enough grace to just be happy for the brit that just got the nod in Germany, the whining scottish tit.

I like Watt but he was terrible tonight. Bring back Darke and McCrory.

    This is Watt all over.

He was correct in the early stages that Haye's output wasn't enough, and he was right to raise the point that in a round with very little activity, the judges will likely score for the guy going forward.

But as the fight progressed Haye started to win rounds with one or two flurries, with Valuev landing nothing at all.

Watt had fallen in love with his won opinion by then though, so he just stuck with the same BS.

In the end I ignored his comments and his scoring, I think I've partially developed the ability to blank him out.

I gotta say, he's annoyed me more than he did last night. Sadly, I don't remember too many fights where I've thought 'Watt, you did a good job there' lol

One problem with just laying into Watt over his scoring so much....

Piper, McCrory and Nelson in the studio all agreed with him. So he was hardly alone whether you like it or not.

Jim annoys me in every fight he commentates. He really pissed me off in Rhodes vs Moore too. Gave Rhodes no credit for the work he did until even an imbecille could tell Rhodes was in control of the fight. Watts always calls it for the fighter he thinks will win until he has no choice but to acknowledge the actual events inside the ring. Get shut of him, the biased *****!

There seems to be a bizzare rule at sky where analysts are forbidden from disagreeing with one another. Watt sets the tone and the others follow.

It's a sorry state of affairs. We're at the stage now I think where Sky's boxing team is the worst of any group of analysts in any sport. I hate Gray, Redknapp and co, but they look like bastions of insight and objectivity compared to this lot.
