Jim Watt retires from commentating

I would prefer darke, malignaggi and Moore/macklin .....not a huge fan of Bellew and smith but like when they are behind the mic, although matchroom fighters they ain't always up the home fighters **** like froch etc.

 

There was nothing wrong with Jim Watt.

So he made people cringe at times, so what who hasn't.

He knew his stuff, the man has probably forgot more than most on here know.

He may not have been everyone's cup of tea, but personally i liked him.

And let's not forget that many fighter's liked him also, and often asked his advice, Take for instance Froch -Grove 1 when Groves spoke to him, and Mr Watt told him "Let him know early on that he is not the only PUNCHER in there".

He has been great, and has overcome a lot of personal tragedies in his life, so cut the man some slack and have a little respect.

Mr Watt if you are reading, ignore these scousers from Bristol

I wish you a long and happy retirement Sir, you have given us many a great night, you certainly didn't waste you're punches commentating on Benn-Galvano.

Should have been put down like an old wounded dog a long time ago via lethal injection with it masked as a intravenous lexative .

The decison to retire should never have been in his hands, after years of listening to him half drunk, no doubt on the hardetest form of scotch, while slurring boxers names along with his penchant for shamless bias towards british fighters while they were clearly taking a one sided beating.

 

I heard a rumor that it'll be Woodhall replacing Watt. Deserves regular work does Richie after filling in on numerous channels.

I have a feeling Hearn wanted changes for the new season hence why Watt and Halling are gone.

 

Hopefully Adam Smith will follow the two of them out and hang up the pen/mic/whatever it is the hell he does as "Head of Boxing" and we can welcome in a new era.
