I give him every credit for winning the fight.

Just didn't think he looked anything special.

Why, because Crawford beat Ricky then Jim cant beat Crawford? Jim is famed for being tough but he was also a very clever fighter and beat better guy's than Crawford believe me. Do you think Crawford or Ricky could go 15 rounds with the great Alexis Arguello or give tough as nails master boxer Ken Buchanan a very close fight? Jim beat better fighters than Crawford and that goes without question. Crawford might go on to be an elite fighter but he isn't right now and the Jim Watt that won the world title and beat Davis jr, O'grady and Nash would have beat Crawford quite handily. I suggest you watch the Watt vs Davis Jr fight. Or watch clips of Davis jr because its as clear as day he's a better, more talented boxer than Crawford. Davis jr won Olympic gold in 76 and the Val Barker trophy for best boxer at the games, beating out future greats Ray Leonard and the Spinks brothers. His hands were as fast as Leonard's his movement was outstanding. In terms of natural talent and slickness Davis Jr shits on Crawford.
Buchanan would have schooled Crawford and Burns on the same night.
I love Burns and rate him higher than most of the bellends on this forum but there's levels he doesn't go past and Watt is one of them. Watt tested himself against better fighters in a much tougher era. The fights Watt had at euro level are tougher than most of Ricky's world title fights.

He was biased and he's like that with most British fighters never mind Scottish. I just feel if he doesn't rate Crawford then he has the right to say it. He would have been watching that fight knowing he could have handled Crawford in his day. Watt gets a lot of **** and I personally think he's a pain in the arse but people forget that he was a quality fighter in an era full of them. I cop him some slack for his bias and **** commentating because he fought some brilliant fighters in his day.

We will miss Jim when he's gone.

Crawford was nothing special - maybe he has more gears to go up though we will see when he's tested.

Hate to sound like a broken record but it perplexes me how Channel Five can employ Al Bernstein to commentate in a school gym but Sky can't get anyone better than Jim Watt.

Richie Woodhall would be better than Watt at this stage for Sky.

I agree mate. You want to listen to guys who have been there, done it and bought the t-shirt and Jim Watt comes into that category.
I find him very annoying myself, but i usually just shout at the TV f*ck off Jim and turn the sound down.

:good He's very underrated. Very clever in the ring, strong, tough etc. When people start threads about chins or heart/toughness in UK boxers past and present you can guarantee no one will mention Watt when he should be one of the first to be mentioned. In fact Buchanan and Lynch also get overlooked for the Usual Eubank, Froch, Collins. Lynch is probably the most Iron chinned tough guy in British boxing History and no one mentions him when discussing that subject. Most of Scotlands champions were blessed with Iron jaws. The chin checkers need to realise this

Have you seen Watts daughter? Would defo smash :yep :blurp

"I'm thinking Ricky's jaw is getting at him..."
"Ricky's jaw might still be hurting..."
"I think Ricky is still a bit worried about his jaw..."
"I wasn't going to go on about the jaw..."
    "Ricky's jaw"
    "Burns' jaw"
    "Jaw"
    "JAW!!!"

Pascal vs Bute should have been the last straw for him.
